Lookalikes

I know they said that dogs look like their owners and vice versa but Luna is now losing her hair too!!! Ok, she is actually moulting. As a 'Poo, she's not dropping hair all over the place - she's moulting into her coat so Harri is currently combing out great clumps!! Unlike me, Luna has enough hair that you can't even tell that she has lost any

Glad to be walking again

Well as I managed to pour boiling water over my foot on Sunday, I couldn't walk Luna last night as I couldn't get my wellies on. Well tonight the big blister had burst so plaster and thick socks in place, on went the wellies.

Just a short walk but a good one nonetheless. Josh chose the route and had the lead all the way. My foot still hurt a bit but it was worth it.

Luna's season

Well, Luna started her season 8 days ago. Whilst we were expecting it at some point, we still consider her our little puppy and as such, it was still a bit of a surprise to start "so soon." She is almost 7 months so I guess it is to be expected.

Looking back, she was off her food a bit - but as she is a bit hit and miss on eating, we didn't think much of it. She also attracted a bit more attention from another Cockapoo in our local Pets at Home (sniffing her) but again, we thought nothing. I feel a bit like a Dad refusing to admit his daughter is growing up but thankfully I have boys. God knows what I'd be like if I had girls!!!

Since then her "bits" have swollen but we've only had the occasional spotting of blood. She does keep herself very clean but does look a bit sorry for herself. We keep expecting it to get worse but so far, fingers crossed.

As for walks, well that is the tough one. We live in the country so she is always off lead apart from the little bit of road until we hit the fields. She's now on the extender lead or occasionally our 10m Long Line. I think she is coping with this better than we are - we love to see her jumping through the grass - but it's not for ever and rather this than an unwanted pregnancy.

We'll keep you updated on how she gets on.

Why the title?

Well, the lovely (but non-PC) Kia-Ora advert always sticks in my head as I'm tramping across the fields with Luna. She does also have a bit of an orangey (OK, Ginger) tint on her ears and loves chasing crows.
